Re: Newcastle
They will finish top 4, Liverpool are finishing like a train but have left it too late. Top 4 will put them ''ahead of schedule'' One downside is if they don't do it again next season the cynical view would be that they have gone backwards.

Re: Newcastle
Brighton still have something to play for, so tonight won't be easy for them. They should roll over Leicester. You wouldn't want to have to go to Chelsea on the last day to win to get into Champs League.

Re: Newcastle
dealcanvey, they're the richest club in the world, playing in the best league in the world, and you don't think they'll be able to attract better players and finish in the top 4? Of course they will.

Re: Newcastle
If you compare how they've done with how Man City did when their Arabs took over (10th, 5th and 3rd in their first 3 seasons) then they've got further more quickly, especially seeing as Newcastle were a much worse team than Man City were at the time they were bought out.

Re: Newcastle
I dont think Newcastle will get as good a chance as this to finish in the top 4, attract better players and kick on.

Likes of Liverpool and Chelsea underachieving (we dont really count spurs anymore do we?) in the same season is what has given them this chance.

... how could I forget to mention, Spurs miss out.

Re: Newcastle
That would be a huge setback for them if they were to miss out after being in the top 4 all season.

The just need to win 2 out of their last 3 games to guarantee it.

Looking at their fixtures you would expect them to do it.

Brighton (H)
Leicester (H)
Chelsea (A)

Re: Newcastle
Good luck to them. Anything that breaks the domination of the so-called big6 is fine by me - the ideal scenario would be Newcastle in 4th then Liverpool, Brighton and Villa taking the other three spots, and of course, us in the Europa.

It would have been a fucking amazing season for them
